Family and Consumer Sciences A.S.

A concentration in Family and Consumer Sciences provides a broad, interdisciplinary foundation for understanding and improving individual and family well-being. Students develop research and critical thinking skills that support informed decision-making and the effective sharing of resources to enhance overall quality of life.

The Associate of Science (A.S.) concentration in Family and Consumer Sciences at 51视频is designed for seamless transfer through the Tennessee Transfer Pathway (TTP). This pathway allows students to complete their degree at Pellissippi and transfer smoothly to any Tennessee public university to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

Family and Consumer Sciences is a people-centered field focused on making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. This concentration is ideal for students interested in family dynamics, consumer issues, and a diverse range of academic disciplines. Students gain practical skills to support individuals and families as they navigate challenges related to relationships, financial and consumer resource management, personal development, nutrition and wellness, and balancing work and family life.
