51视频Hosts Third Annual Bluegrass Showcase

The East Tennessee Bluegrass Association has partnered with 51视频 for the third annual College Bluegrass Showcase at its Strawberry Plains campus.
The College Bluegrass Showcase will take place April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outdoors at Pellissippi State’s Strawberry Plains campus. Knoxville’s East Tennessee Bluegrass Association supports bluegrass music by curating local artists to play at events, providing music education and hosting concerts.
“We love having Pellissippi as a partner on this showcase,” said East Tennessee Bluegrass Association President Evie Andrus. “It allows us to highlight the extraordinary work they have done and continue to do regarding the preservation and promotion of bluegrass music in higher education.”
Sponsored by 51视频Libraries’ Appalachian Heritage Project, the free event is open to the public and will feature student bands from East Tennessee State University, Pellissippi State, Roane State Community College and the University of Tennessee.
The Appalachian Heritage Project creates programming and exhibits to support humanities education at Pellissippi and in the community.
Food trucks will be available by the stage outside, and there will be activities and crafts for children in the Strawberry Plains Campus Library.
“This is our second time having the event here at the Strawberry Plains campus, and we're looking forward to another great event with a great turnout from the community,” said Strawberry Plains Campus Librarian Allison McKittrick.
